This year’s sunflower seed packet incorporates colorful sunflowers by 6 year old Davis artist, Mason Garcia, winner of the 2009 Sunflower Art Contest NAMI-Yolo raises funds and mental illness awareness by selling special "Seeds of Hope" sunflower seed packets for a $3 donation per packet or 2 for $5.  We are selling Sunflower Seeds known for their ability for tall growth, that can grow up to 16' in height and beyond.

These sunflower seeds were developed by Woodland plant geneticist  Dr. Tom Heaton,  the world’s foremost sunflower breeder. Heaton has been breeding sunflowers for 30 years and has revolutionized the market by introducing a dazzling array of new sunflower forms and colors to the seed trade.  American Giant Hybrid can grow to 16+ feet and has very large seed heads. 

"If this sunflower was any taller, you would need a flashing light on top of it to warn passing airplanes! Not only is this one of the tallest sunflowers that we have seen, it has the stalk to support it.
